Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for generations. Guests from each of the neighboring states pile in trucks and travel to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a precedent setting determination by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that instance, twenty three of the 39 Indian tribes of Oklahoma have established bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian tribes to take advantage of the gambling restrictions, and today run 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were built on. Electronic games such as one armed bandits weren’t approved, owing to the fact that they’re thought to contribute to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to allow for enormous Amerindian betting casinos. You’ll now find Amerindian gambling halls with one armed bandits, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the American Indian gambling halls yet, but this is simply a waiting game. No one can say with whether having other casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
